The Haunting of Hill House is an American supernatural horror series which is Directed by Mike Flanagan who is popularly known for his work in horror, Ouija: Origin of Evil (all 2016), Gerald’s Game (2017), and Doctor Sleep (2019). The series is based on a gothic horror novel by an American author by Shirley Jackson in the year 1959. The series received an amazing response from the audience and was a supremely hit.
It also received numerous prestigious awards which include Writers Guild of America Awards, Art Directors Guild Awards, Fangoria Chainsaw Awards, Bram Stoker Award, Saturn Awards for One-Hour Period or Fantasy Single-Camera Television Series to Patricio M. Farrel, Best Series award for Mike Flanagan, Superior Achievement in a Screenplay award for Meredith Averill for “The Bent-Neck Lady”.
The story revolves around a hill house that is haunted and known for paranormal activities. The story goes the back to mid-1900s when a family use to stay there and some abnormal incidents happened and about another family with five siblings who experienced their stay in the hill house and mysterious incidents followed them which they are still facing. After a massive hit of season 1 which was aired on Netflix, the cast is set to release the second season However the second season named as, The Haunting of Bly Manor, which indicates the change of location for the incidents in proceeding episodes, is expected to follow a different story and is based on the 1898 novella The Turn of the Screw by Henry James.
