As she prepares for her part in the upcoming Powerpuff Girls reboot, Agents of SHIELD star Chloe Bennet has debuted a new hairstyle.
The actress will play Blossom in the upcoming live-action CW film, which will reunite her with Dove Cameron (Bubbles) from SHIELD, as well as Yana Perrault (Buttercup).
Bennet took to Instagram to flaunt her new red locks, captioning a video of herself with the caption: “A female, asian, redheaded, superhero” (again). Yes, yes.
“Hunnyyyy, go ahead and normalise yourself as whatever you want,” she said.
Bennet is best known for her role as Daisy ‘Skye’ Johnson (Quake) on SHIELD, while Cameron portrayed Ruby Hale on the Marvel show.
The original Powerpuff Girls animated series, which aired from 1998 to 2005, followed the superhero sisters as they defended Townsville against villains like Mojo Jojo on a regular basis.
The official synopsis for the reboot is as follows: “America’s pint-sized superheroes used to be the Powerpuff Ladies. They’re now disillusioned twenty-somethings who hate having spent their youth battling crime. Will they agree to reunite now, more than ever, when the world needs them?”
The new series will be produced by executive producers Heather Regnier and Diablo Cody, with assistance from Greg Berlanti of the Arrowverse, and directed by Riverdale director Maggie Kiley.
