The animated series “Trese,” which premieres on Netflix on June 11, is a supernatural horror based on the same-named comic book series of the same name. Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo produced the Filipino graphic book series “Trese” in 2005. The project began as a black-and-white webcomic before finding an individual publisher on its journey to international fame.

“Trese” features Alexandra Trese, a private investigator who investigates the horrific creatures and dark magic that have run rampant in Manila, the Philippines’ capital.
Alexandra was raised by her father, Anton Trese (Carlos Alazraqui), to fight the wicked creatures that run rampant and endanger humanity’s life. Alexandra maintains her own nightclub in between cases, and she is frequently accompanied by two mystery bodyguards whom she refers to collectively as Kambal.
The series will be available on Netflix in both English and Filipino, allowing worldwide fans to experience all of the spine-chilling horrors and exhilarating action. Alexandra Trese’s English-speaking voice is provided by the gorgeous Shay Mitchell.
