Alita: Battle Angel was released on 14 February 2019 and although it got mixed reviews. It grossed over $400 Million worldwide. The movie is based on Yukito Kishiro’s 1990s series Gunnm and its video adaptation Battle Angel. The film was directed by Robert Rodriguez and produced by Avatar’s Director James Cameron.
It was originally announced in 2003 but got delayed. The film despite its mixed review did well financially so there will be a second part for Alita: Battle Angel, the only question is when.
Expected Release Date,
The production of the movie was in its early stages when it was stopped because of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Also, Disney has purchased the rights for the movie however we still don’t know how that will affect the production of the movie. Even after the delays if the production continues soon, we can see the movie hopefully, by the end of 2021 or early 2022.
Who Will Be In The Cast?
The cast for the Second Part of the movie will probably be similar to the first one and will include, Rosa Salazar as Alita, Christoph Waltz as Dr. Dyson Ido, Jennifer Connelly as Dr. Chiren, Mahershala Ali as Vector and some others from the first part. There hasn’t been any news about any new casting as of yet however, the movie is still in the early stages of production so we may see some new members in the future.
Since the production was halted in the early stages, we don’t have much grasp of the plot and story. However, going by the ending of the first movie we will probably see Alita making a trip to Iron City. We will see a different side of Alita in this movie and how she deals with the demise of her love interest Hugo. That’s all we know, for now, we will keep you updated as we learn more.
Why Do Cyborgs Look Like Humans?
Dr. Dyson who created Alita is a renowned cyborg scientist and a part-time bounty hunter he created Alita with his team in hope that she will save everyone from The Evil. Since she needs to save humans and help it was essential for humans to accept her and that’s why the cyborg kept the human face. This was also done because Alita has been programmed to think like Humans and help them when they are in need.
Seems the wait for the season is worth the deal!
