Netflix announced the discontinuation of Anne with an E two years ago. However, the third season of the show was cancelled before it began airing. Hence it was the final season. Despite Netflix’s announcement, Anne Shirley’s fans are still hoping to see her return.
Netflix and the show’s creators have not yet made any announcements about the fourth season. Netflix and CBC had difficulty negotiating with each other, and the series ended abruptly in 2019. Netflix also promoted the third season as being it’s last, which is a bold statement.
Netflix saved Lucifer, but we’ve seen other series get salvaged by another network or streaming service in the past. However, a new addition to Stranger Things Season 4 does not offer Anne With An E supporters much hope.
The first teaser for Stranger Things Season 4 has been released. The programme will return in 2022. Followers were surprised to see a new cast member, who is well known to fans of Anne with an E.
Stranger Things’ newest cast member is Amybeth McNulty. Unfortunately, this means that Anne with an E will not be returning for a fourth season.
“I have a great deal of respect for this character, and she talks a lot to other people and me,” she told Radio Times. What a great character to be able to voice! This is precisely what I believe. So, therefore, it’s wonderful.”
Anne with an E’s creators and actresses may have given up on the fourth season, but the show’s fans are still urging streaming services to renew it.
There are currently more than 1.5 million signatures on a petition begging Netflix to revive the show.
So much so that even Ryan Reynolds declared himself a fan. But, unfortunately, his request to renew for a fourth season has not yet been answered.
