Alta Mar also popularly known as High Seas is a Spain originated mysterious series which was first landed on Netflix in May 2019. Created by Ramon Campos and Gema R. Neira and produced by Bambu Productions, there are a total of 2 seasons with 16 episodes (8 in each) available on Netflix.
The first season was aired on May 24, 2019, followed by the release of the second season on November 22, 2019 and renewal for season 3 announced in the same month. Here we are with all updates. Read further to know it all!
High Seas or Alta Mar: Storyline so far!
The story of the series revolved around a series of mysterious deaths on a luxury cruise liner travelling from Spain to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil in the late 1940s, where two sisters named Eva and Carolina after the death of their father, reveals and finds very disturbing and dirty family secrets. The series is full of mysteries, drama and crime. Season 2 ended with a slight cliffhanger and we speculate season 3 to begin from where it left to resolve the unsolved mysteries.
‘Alta Mar’ High Seas season 3: Release and Production Updates
The filming for High Seas 3 started in November right after the announcement and we know it is underdevelopment. It was anticipated to have seen this series being premiered towards August 2020 earlier, however, the global pandemic has certainly made a major impact and for most of the production houses, we speculate the series to be available sometime during the fall.
A bonus one for all the fans as a Spanish reporter also published that they have started the development for season 4 in instalment. Well that’s quiet early, however, we might have to wait long for a season 3.

Hopefully in the third season the original cast may return to reprise their roles from last seasons including Jose Scaristan as Caption of the cruise liner, Ivana Baquero as Eva Villanueva , Jon Kortajarena as Nicolas Vasquez who is the Cheif investigating officer.
Joining the lead cast is Alejandra Onieva as Carolina Villanueva, Eloy Azorin as Fernando Fabregas who is the ship’s owner, Manuela Velles as Louisa aka Sofia Plazaola, and Chiquinquira Delgado as Teresa.
Expected plot of season 3
Since season 2 of High Seas ended with a lot of questions and mysteries, where the cruise came to the Rio De Janerio. The third season could be unveiling those mysteries and it is not known if the third season will continue the cruise ship or fall to the center. The last season also showed some paranormal activities which may continue.
This season may put up more mysteries and raise other questions because of finding answers to the previous questions and Mysteries. But one thing is guaranteed that the season will be full of entertainment and drama.
