After expanding the scope of the story to a new direction in Altered Carbon Season 2, will we see something different in Season 3 again or will the journey for Altered Carbon will end here. This futuristic Cyberpunk series is based on Richard K. Morgan’s novel of the same title and was created by Laeta Kalogridis.
The show is set in the year 2384 a lot has changed and now u can transfer your consciousness and memories to a device called cortical stack and the bodies only serve the purpose of a ‘sleeve’ as you can transfer into a new body if your cortical stack is not damaged. The show follows the last surviving soldier of envoys who were destroyed as they rebelled against the uprising of the new world. The first season of the show premiered on Netflix on February 2, 2018, and was followed by the Season 2 on February 27, 2020. So will we see a new season in the upcoming future? Let’s find out
Release Date
Unfortunately, we still don’t know have any confirmations on the 3rd Season, however, we saw Executive Producer Alison Schapker saying in an interview that “I’m dying for a season three. I have a ton of idea for directions, but I don’t know how much I can speak to that. But we’re ready to go.” So it looks they are just waiting for a green light from Netflix before starting the production. Also from the gap between previous Seasons, it looks like the show won’t be coming any time before 2022.
Cast For The Next Season
The show has a unique aspect to it that it can change the actors without changing the character roles because as we know people can switch bodies as long as their cortical stack is fine and that’s why we saw Joel Kinnaman playing Takeshi “Tak” Kovacs in the first season and Anthony Mackie in the second. So we can expect a new actor playing the role of Kovac next season but we just don’t know who it will be. We can also see the return of Renée Elise Goldsberry as Quellcrist “Quell” Falconer, Chris Conner as Edgar Poe, Dina Shihabi as Dig 301 along with some other actors.
Plot And Is There A Trailer?
In the 1st season, Kovac investigates the murder of Meth Laurens Bancroft, one of the wealthiest men in the settled worlds who hires Kovac himself and gives him an opportunity to a new life. In the 2nd Season we saw Kovac in a new sleeve and looking for Envoy’s leader and his lover Quellcrist “Quell” Falconer. We also got to know about Elders and we think they will play a huge part in the plot of the next season. We will also be seeing more battles and hopefully, understand what it means to be reckoned by the demons. The show hasn’t been given a green signal by Netflix so we only wait and hope the production starts soon and then we can expect a trailer sometime in the future.
