What’s inside the Americanah!
It’s a fabulous story designed on a life of teenager named Ifemelu who lives in a Nigerian city Lagos. She moves to the United States for higher studies where turning point of her life came. Where she struggles for the very first time with racism and many types of color discriminations, in US she discovers what it means to be a “Black Person”.
But she crossed all the obstacles and becomes the very famous blogger entitled “Raceteenth or Various Observations About American Blacks by a Non-American Black”. In between these struggles, her childhood love Obinze also going to join her but his visa denied after 9/11 attack and he goes to London and becomes an undocumented immigrant. At the end, both Ifemelu and Obinze returned to their hometown Nigeria and revived their Oldie-Goldie relationship!
Was the casting prepared!
Yes, directors revealed about some of the casting members such as Lupita Nyong’o who will play the role of lead teenage girl Ifemelu, Zackary Momoh will play the role of her childhood love Obinze, Uzo Aduba will cast as Ifemelu’s aunt named Uju and so on. But as the series cancelled so, there’s no use to know about casting!
Why the series canceled!
The showrunner Danai Gurira was completed the script writing and its cast was also ready to go when the pandemic drastically halted all the production in Hollywood and around the world.
This glamorous story on the most serious topic racism was going to premiere on HBO Max in 2021 and the drama also received a 10-episode straight-to-series order last year but the executive producer Lupita Nyong’o cancelled the series because of her scheduling conflicts.
Maybe the series will take a little more time to be on everyone’s screen, so don’t worry and stay tuned as whenever the series release will renew, we’ll inform you first!
Hence, our lovely readers stay connected and tuned to know about the brand-new upcoming shows and comment us whether you want the Americanah to come or not!
