Pet Sematary 2, the sequel to the 2019 adaptation, is one of Stephen King’s ongoing projects that has been moving forward quickly in recent months. Lindsey Beer, the writer/director, joined the project in May of 2021, and it’s been moving forward ever since. The producers have already announced a few notable actors who will appear in the play.

For reasons that will become evident momentarily, it appears that the new Pet Sematary movie will serve as a prequel to Stephen King’s original narrative and will likely explore another storey in which the characters learn the harsh lesson that was sometimes dying is better than living. Unfortunately, the film’s cast hasn’t been revealed in full, but here’s what we do know thus far.

‘Mrs. Fletcher’ star Jackson White was the first actor to sign on for the Pet Sematary sequel in June 2021, and it was at that time, the prequel portion of the movie appeared to be established. White, who is in his mid-20s, will play Jud Crandall in the new film, replacing John Lithgow, who played a part in the original in 2019. Assuming the laws of the Micmac Burial Ground don’t alter, it’s reasonable to suppose that the storey will take place roughly a half-century before the storey we’re all familiar with.

With The Revenant, Forrest Goodluck’s career took off. He has subsequently worked on major projects, such as Cherry and The Republic Of Sarah Soon on the CW, but this will mark his first Stephen King adaptation. Goodluck’s role in the next Pet Sematary film is currently unknown, as with most of the other performers mentioned in this article.

In the spring, Stephen King followed the HBO drama The Mare Of Easttown, tweeting about his impressions on the series and his predictions for the ending. It’s possible that soon, one of the stars from that show will appear in one of King’s newest feature films. On the hit mystery series, Mulhern played the unlikable Dylan Hinchey. He will now join Kate Winslet in Paramount+’s Pet Sematary sequel. What part he will play in the original plot remains unknown.

Natalie Alyn Lind’s career has been dominated by television for the past six years. Since then, she’s appeared in one-off episodes of Chicago Fire, iZombie, and Daybreak, as well as recurring roles on shows like Gotham, The Gifted, ETC.

More cast members are well-known for their performances in famous films. As of now, there is no official release date for the untitled Pet Sematary sequel, but it will be a Paramount+ exclusive. However, the fact that it will be filmed in the summer of 2021 suggests that the picture will be released in 2022, probably at the beginning of the year. Lindsay Beer, who wrote and produced Sierra Burgess is a Loser for Netflix, will be making her directorial debut with this project, her first feature film.
