Before We Die, a brand new detective drama featuring Lesley Sharp as a cop who sacrifices her career to rescue her off-the-rails son when he’s involved in a violent murder investigation, will premiere on Channel 4 in May.
This six-part series, based on a Swedish drama of the same name, stars Patrick Gibson from The OA, Vincent Regan from Wallander, and Toni Gojanović from Success.

When will Before We Die be released?
Before We Die premieres on Channel 4 on Wednesday, May 26th at 9pm.
From that date forward, the six-part thriller, based on a Walter Presents series of the same name, will air weekly on Wednesdays.

Hannah Laing, a detective who finds herself conflicted when her son is involved in an investigation into the gruesome murder of one of her colleagues, is played by Lesley Sharp of Scott & Bailey.
Hannah’s mixed-up son Christian is played by Patrick Gibson (The OA, The Tudors), and Hannah’s colleague Billy Murdoch is played by Vincent Regan (Wallander).
Croatian actor Toni Gojanović (HBO’s Success) plays criminal gang leader Davor Mimica, rounding out the cast.

The first trailer for Before We Die was recently released by Channel 4, teasing the upcoming explosive (literally) drama.
The network released a few first-look photos from the show last week, including one of Hannah and Christian together.
The plot of Before We Die
Hannah Laing (Sharp), a senior police detective in Bristol, is forced to make a horrible decision when her son Christian (Gibson) goes off the rails and becomes involved in a murder case involving one of Hannah’s coworkers.
Christian works for the Mimica crime family, a Croatian family who moved to Bristol and established a prosperous restaurant, but with the ruthless eldest son Davor (Gojanovi) in charge, Christian finds himself in dangerous territory.
The show is based on a Swedish drama series of the same name, which was also produced by Walter Presents.
