A new lead role has been grabbed by the former The Big Bang Theory cast member Melissa Rauch. She is all set to appear in a reboot of the legal sitcom, Night Court. The news had been revealed by Deadline. In addition to the star’s inclusion, Deadline also confirmed that star John Larroquette would be reprising his character Reinhold Daniel Fielding Elmore.
Night Court centered on the night shifts at a Manhattan municipal court and aired on NBC between 1984 and ’92. The court had been led by Harry Anderson’s unorthodox judge Harold ‘Harry’ T Stone. Rauch would be starring in the show as Harry’s daughter, as the unapologetic optimist judge’ Abbe Stone. She would also be executive producing the reboot.
Her character is bound to follow her late father’s footsteps wherein she would try her level best to bring order to the chaos of the court’s night shift. Dan Rubin is responsible behind penning down the new Night Court. Moreover, if the pilot episode secures a series order then the show is certain to air on NBC.
This project would be marking Rauch’s yet another big TV return after having spent years in delivering the character of Bernadette in The Big Bang Theory, up until the show’s 2019 finale. Greener pastures have been definitely found by her former co-tars Kunal Nayyar (Raj Kootthrappali), Kaley Cuoco (Penny), Mayim Bialik (Amy Farrah Fowler), and Jim Parsons (Sheldon Cooper) in likes of Criminal: UK, The Flight Attendant, Call Me Kat, and Netflix’s Hollywood.
