Birds of Prey, which cost over $100 million, earned mostly positive reviews from critics but failed at the box office, making little more than $201.9 million worldwide. Birds of Prey, directed by Cathy Yan and written by Christina Hodson, recasts Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn for the first time since 2016’s Suicide Squad.
In Birds of Prey, Harley Quinn was unexpectedly freed from her bond to The Joker, and she later attracted the interest of bad boy Roman Zion (Ewan McGregor). The newest Birds of Prey episode revealed why the titular characters decided to create an official combat group. And the two major villains didn’t fare well in the film, with one surviving the other before being attacked by Harley and her companions. Unfortunately, a year after the release of Birds of Prey, DC has not confirmed the existence of a sequel, and actor Robbie has also discounted the notion.
When will Birds of Prey 2 release?
Since Birds of Prey 2 has yet to be greenlit until the summer of 2021, it is difficult to envision it arriving soon, especially given the DCEUs. The plan for the future years is nearly finalized. However, if the Black Canary spin-off goes well on HBO Max, Warner Bros. should reconsider creating Birds of Prey two now rather than later. As a result, it may be released in mid-2022.
Who will be casting for Birds of Prey 2?
Margot Robbie is a big Harley Quinn fan and served as a producer on Birds of Prey, so she’ll most likely be back. The remainder of the cast is anticipated to return, including Jurnee Smollet-Bell, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rosie Perez, and Ella Jay Basco.
