Following the death of Chadwick Boseman, the lead actor in Black Panther, in 2020 due to cancer, plans for a sequel were placed on hold. Black Panther 2 Release Date:
Prior to the incident, the film’s development team had set the release date for May 6, 2022. We may expect the film to be released in July 2022, following Boseman’s loss and the imminent COVID19 outbreak.
According to reports, the film unit will begin shooting the sequences in Atlanta in July 2021 and will last approximately six months. The production is in full swing, as three more Marvel films are set to be released in the near future.
Is there going to be a new cast for Black Panther 2?
The filmmakers have confirmed specifically that they have no intentions to build a CG Chadwick, explaining in an interview that the sequel is intended to honour Chadwick Boseman’s legacy.
Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, and Angela Bassett are expected to reprise their roles in the sequel to Black Panther, according to reports. Tenoch Huerta, a well-known Mexican actor, is also in talks to play one of the film’s antagonists.
The rest of the cast is yet to be unveiled by Marvel Studios. After the scripting process is completed, they must finalise the actor. So stay tuned for more details on the Black Panther 2 cast.
What can we expect from Black Panther 2?
Initially, the film’s creator, Ryan Coogler, stated that the second instalment would focus on T’Challa’s development as a king. He didn’t want to reveal T’Challa’s character until after the Chadwick incident. Now they won’t be able to reveal T’Challa in the second half.
As a result, the script for Black Panther 2 will almost certainly be altered. Kevin Feige reported that the producers are planning on showing more of Wakandan. The plot’s official confirmation is awaited. Keep an eye out for more details.
