The web entertainment service-provider, Netflix, officially declared the resumption of Black Summer, Season 2. To be more precise, Netflix renewed the series for its second season in November of 2019. Its initial scenes are expected to be shooting in Alberta, Canada. As of now, no release date of the upcoming season is yet revealed. As per the sources, the production is, however, in the making. Although the production for the series has been stopped temporarily due to the current pandemic situation, one can expect it to get scheduled somewhere in 2021.

When asked about the plot of the second season, the lead-actor, Jaime King commented:
“What I can tease is that whatever you think is going to happen, will not happen. It’s always going to keep you on your toes. It comes back to like authentic human traits. Like, is the person egotistical? Do they have some kind of ulterior motive? What is in each character’s base psychology?”
Thus, assuming basis the actor’s statement that season 2 might be a refugee narrative. The plot might represent a society filled with sickness where symbolism would be concealed inside. It’s even presumed that nobody would have the appropriate immune.
Cast: New Faces or No?
We are anticipating seeing some of our favourite old casts like Jaime King, Justin Chu Cary, Christine Lee, Sal Velez Jr, and Kelsey Flower, and many others. Jaime King to come back as producer and a protagonist in the series. Moreover, the upcoming season of Black Summer also might cast some potential new characters, though no official announcement has been made by the makers. Nevertheless, we are expecting the release of season 2 very soon. We also hope that it would be a mind-boggling hit on Netflix.
