The Physical teaser for Apple TV+’s newest comedy-drama series, starring Golden Globe nominee Rose Byrne as a ’80s housewife who discovers strength and self-confidence in teaching aerobics, has been revealed.
Bridesmaids Rose Byrne Stars In Physical
Sheila, played by Byrne, is on the edge of breaking down as a result of the stress and concerns that come with being undervalued by her family. She’ll quickly understand that being a fitness teacher may be a lucrative business once she realises that aerobics is a great stress reliever. On Friday, June 18, the half-hour dark comedy is set to premiere.
Physical is set in the picturesque but fragile beach paradise of sunny 1980s San Diego and revolves around Sheila Rubin, a silently tortured housewife who confronts serious psychological problems and a cruel inner voice behind closed doors. But everything changes when she discovers aerobics, which sets her on a path to self-confidence and success.

Sheila Rubin will be played by Rose Byrne (Bridesmaids, Neighbors), Danny Rubin will be played by Rory Scovel (Robbie), Bunny will be played by Dierdre Friel, Della Saba, Tyler will be played by Lou Taylor Pucci (American Horror Story: 1984), John Breem will be played by Paul Sparks (Boardwalk Empire), and Simone will be played by Ashley Liao (Fuller House).
Annie Weisman, who also acts as the showrunner, conceived and executive produced Physical. Craig Gillespie (I Tonya, Cruella), Liza Johnson, and Stephanie Laing are the directors. Gillespie, Johnson, Laing, Byrne, Alexandra Cunningham, John McNamara, Sera Gamble, and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios are executive producers.
