Britney Spears has been banned from making decisions about her life after a breakdown for over 12 years. Her father, James Jamie Spears, continues to be her legal guardian.
Administrator for two years
29-year-old actress Jamie Lynn Spears, best known as the pop princess’s younger sister, will have responsibility for putting the singer’s fortune into a fund that will benefit her sons if Britney dies.
From court documents available to “Entertainment Tonight,” it is apparent that Jamie Lynn has been the administrator of Britney’s property since 2018.
That’s what happens to the money when Britney dies.
It was then that Britney‘s sister was allowed to be installed by father Jamie Spears and co-conservator Andrew Wallet. In the event of Britney’s premature death, Jamie Lynn will ensure that 14-year-old Sean Preston and 13-year-old Jayden James are financially supported.
The documents read: “The complete trust fund is hereby said to be immediately paid to the administrator of BJS Kids & Family Trust so that it can be distributed, kept and given according to the specific requirements.”
Her father is not supposed to be a guardian.
It only recently became clear that the pop princess herself does not want her father to be used as the only legal guardian.
New court documents filed by Britney’s court-appointed attorney have indicated that the singer “strongly prefers” Jodi Montgomery to keep her position as guardian rather than her father Jamie Spears being the sole administrator her property. TMZ reports that Britney would prefer a “qualified corporate trustee” to lead.
So it goes on
Until next year, the singer has to hold her patience. As announced and decided in the virtual hearing on August 19, Jamie Spears will have the complete legal guardianship until 1st February 2021.
