Chadwick Boseman’s unexpected death on Friday has rocked Hollywood. The statement released by Boseman’s family announced how he passed away “with his wife and family by his side.”
Chadwick And Taylor Together Since 2015
It is reported that Chadwick was engaged to Taylor Simone Ledward since October 2019.
The couple was together from 2015 when Taylor graduated from the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, where she majored in Music Industry Studies. In 2018, Taylor was seen accompanying him to the Oscars and the Screen Actor Guild Awards in 2019.
In the same year, during the NAACP Image Awards in March, Chadwick was awarded ‘The Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture’ for the role of T’Challa in Black Panther, where he had acknowledged Simone and had added that he loves her. Their last public appearance was on February 16 when they were attending the 69th NBA All-Star Game.
She Stood By Him As A Supporting Girlfriend, Fiancée And Recently As A Wife
His family also revealed that Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last four years as it progressed to stage IV. During sometime after the engagement in October, the couple secretly tied their nuptials. She had been with him throughout his years of struggle.
A Great Actor And An Exceptional Human Being
Chadwick was a brilliant actor, a director, and even a playwright. He was noted for his two biopics – one of the Black American Baseball Icon Jackie Robinson (42) and the other singer James Brown (Get on Up). He made his Marvel debut in Captain America: Civil War, which was released in April 2016. He was also an active supporter of the Black Lives Matter Movement and believed that “understanding history is one of the many ways to break the cycle of racial injustice in this country.”
The family also said that they have suffered a significant loss and requested that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.
