Cinderella is a forthcoming American romantic fantasy film produced by Into the Woods actor James Corden, Jonathan Kadin, Leo Pearlman as well as Shannon McIntosh. On April 9, 2019, the production company Columbia Pictures declared that a musical retelling of Cinderella would be arriving soon. Kay Cannon will direct the story credit goes to James Corden.

The live-action Cinderella reboot is on its way. There are some speculations that Sony Pictures will release the film in the theaters soon. The film is already set to launch worldwide one year from now. However, the production was put on hold due to the ongoing pandemic. This might affect the release date of the film.

On February 13, 2020, the production began for the upcoming live-action Cinderella reboot in the United Kingdom. However, on March 16, the production was suspended for around 14 days due to the global pandemic. The number of coronavirus cases began to increase that month so all the production houses were closed.

 According to the sources, the film was set to launch on February 5, 2021. However, the production stage is not completed yet, so there are chances for the live-action reboot film to get delayed further. As of now, some production houses are opening slowly and continuing their work, but they are taking all the precautions.

There are some rumors that the film production resumed in August 2020. So if the filming for the upcoming Cinderella film ends soon, then we can expect it to release in theaters in February or by the end of 2021. These are just our speculations. Cinderella fans are pretty excited to know the entire cast of the upcoming film. Camila Cabello will be playing as Cinderella. The Havana singer has appeared in numerous tv shows, so this will be her first debut role in a film.  Some of you might recognize her from her favorite song Senorita or her pop group Fifth Harmony.

 Broadway star and fashion icon Billy Porter will play as Fairy Godmother. You might be thinking Fairy Godmother was a woman, the new generation Cinderella film is genderless. He said that magic has no gender, and the new generation has loved the idea of the new film, but the adults are not happy with this.

 Wicked and Rent film actress Idina Menzel will play the role of the evil stepmother of Cinderella. She also did a voice-over of Queen Elsa in Disney’s “Frozen” franchise. Netflix’s Chambers star Nicholas Galitzine is set to play the love interest of Cinderella, Prince Robert. He will be a new version of the prince. Pierce Brosnan had been cast as the king and Prince Robert’s father.

 Oscar- and Golden Globe-nominee actress Minnie Driver is set to play as Queen Beatrice. Besides, British series The Living and the Dead’s actress Charlotte Spencer and Netflix film Dumplin actress Maddie Baillio will be seen as the evil stepsisters Drizella and Anastasia.

 Lastly, The Late-Late Show with James Corden star James Corden, British standup comedian Romesh Ranganathan, and American stand-up comic and Netflix series Big Mouth voice actor John Mulaney will play the Mice/Footmen.
