Dear Evan Hansen is an upcoming American musical teen drama movie which is directed by Stephen Chbosky and screenplay is been done by Steven Levenson, Benj Pasek and Justin paul’s 2015 stage musical of the same name. Ben Platt, Platt’s son, reprises his stage role as the title character in the Universal Pictures/Marc Platt production. The movie is set to be released on 24th of September 2021.
Evan Hansen, a high school student with social anxiety disorder, has a therapeutic self-intended letter stolen by a classmate who later commits suicide, and his family misidentifies it as having been sent to Evan by his son. Evan transports the boy back in time, immersing him in a series of inspiring, manipulative, and confrontational events.
The film’s right were purchased by Universal Picture in November 2018, making Stephen Chbosky as director and Steven Levenson as the writer who was also set to write the screenplay for the movie. Marc Platt and Adam Siegel will be the producers, and Benj Pasek and Justin Paul will be the and will serve as executive producers alongside Levenson and Michael Bederman also
