There was a film named Dear White People released in 2014 touching issues faced by blacks in America. The film’s writer and director, Justin Simien, decided to create television series with the same name on Netflix and has already aired three seasons.
There were ten episodes of thirty minutes each in season one which was aired on April 28, 2017, followed by a renewal of the second season on June 30, 2017. The sequel was premiered on May 4, 2018. On June 21, 2018, the third season was signed and was telecasted on August 2, 2019. On October 2, 2019, fourth and the final season was signed which was initially planned to be aired in 2020.
But looking at the delays which are now regular in the entertainment industry we do not expect it before 2021, however, nothing has come from makers of the show about the release dates. The story moves around some black students who are studying at Ivy League Institute and dealing with modern America’s apartheid. We expect to see season four being initiated where season three ended.
Though the series attracted much appreciation and love from fans, there were some angry responses as well on twitter and even called for a Netflix boycott. Interestingly even the YouTube trailer for the series received more dislikes than likes. Ironically Lead actress Logan Browning noted that most of the critics with rave reviews for the show were whites.
We have been seeing the cast of the last three seasons and expect the same to be in the fourth and final season of the show. We will see Logan Browning as Samantha White, Brandon P. Bell as Troy Fairbanks, DeRon Horton as Lionel Higgins, Antoinette Robertson as Colandrea “Coco” Conners, John Patrick Amedori as Gabe Mitchell, Ashley Blaine Featherson as Joelle Brooks and Marque Richardson as Reggie Green.
Till we get more news and updates on the series season four stay safe and stay happy.
