Designated Survivor Season 4: All About Renewal of the Season


Designated Survivor is an American political drama tele series, which is created by David Guggenheim. The show aired on ABC for its first two seasons. Season 1 was premiered on September 21, 2016, after certain delays in the pilot. 

A designated survivor is among one of the most loved series and has received many positive reviews. The first episode was released on ABC to an audience of 10 million and within eight days the entire series was announced. 

The series was renewed for its season 2 on May 11, 2017, and was again released on ABC on September 27, 2017. Following the same in May 2018, ABC decided not to continue further with the series. 

Later in September 2018, Netflix came into the picture and reached an agreement with Entertainment One, where they announced that they will be picking up Designated Survivor for its Season 2 with 10 episodes. Entertainment One was solely responsible for the production of the series. The third season was premiered on Netflix on June 7, 2019, and the following month itself, the streaming giant announced the cancellation of the series.

Designated Survivor Season 4: All About Renewal of the Season

The story of the series essays the character of Thomas Kirkman who is a politician and is termed as Designated Survivor for the state union. He is the one who jumps on the President’s positions from the position of Secretary of Housing and Urban development. 

An explosion occurs due to which people were killed. Kirkman has to deal with the situation though he has no familiarity in the field and tried to pelt the reality of the attack. Stepping up as the President, he is not aware that the game has just started. 

There were certain rumors doing the rounds which speculated that Netflix is planning to come up with a season 4. However, after doing our side of the research we concluded that there is no possibility in this and the rumors are far from reality. Netflix gave any concrete reasons for why they canceled the series but they did mention by Netflix that the show has reached its satisfactory end to justification. That leaves us with no hope to see any further action happening on the Designated Survivor.
