The show follows Thomas Kirkman originally The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development who becomes President of the United State after an attack on Capitol building which kills the President and everyone ahead of Kirkman in the presidency line of succession.
The show is about how he handles his role and how he deals with further troubles while trying to uncover the truth about the attack.
The show originally premiered on ABC September 21, 2016, and the second season was released on September 27, 2017.
In May 2018 the show was canceled by ABC and was later picked up by Netflix in September 2018 and the third season premiered exclusively on Netflix on June 7, 2019.
Will There Be A Season 4?
It seems that the journey will end here for Designated Survivor as one of the leading actor Kiefer Sutherland himself confirmed that there wouldn’t be a Season 4. Along with no news from Netflix, it looks like there won’t be a Season 4.
The Future Of Series?
The show amassed quite a few fans over the course season 1 to 3. It wouldn’t be first that a show originally canceled was revived because of the fans so if the fans try hard and Netflix hears them we might see another Season.
However, as of now, there isn’t much in the future for Designated Survivor.

We saw that in the last Season Thomas Kirkman winning the seat again and both Myles Lee and Lorraine were arrested by the FBI.
So if they plan to renew the show the majority of the plot will be based around this will follow Thomas Kirkman and show how he has improved over the years in managing the Country.
