As per reports, when Universal first revealed “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish” in March, they confirmed the film’s estimated release date. As a result, Universal was willing to commit to a particular launch date for the movie, indicating that DreamWorks had been hard at work for some time. If everything goes according to plan for Universal, “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish” will air on September 23, 2022.
Puss in Boots quickly rose to the status of a mainstay in the Shrek franchise after his debut in “Shrek 2.” Originally a villain and robber, Puss has evolved into a hero and Shrek’s faithful sidekick. Of course, Antonio Banderas’ portrayal as Puss in Boots is a big part of this. There is no way Universal would launch a major picture in the “Shrek” series without Antonio Banderas. The Oscar-nominated star has already been confirmed to play everyone’s favourite feisty kitty in “The Last Wish.”
However, the movie’s other casting choices remain a mystery. Different “Shrek” characters appearing in this film may be asking too much. After all, none of them appeared in the original “Puss in Boots” film. However, it’s more probable that characters from Puss in Boots’ first film, like Salma Hayek’s Kitty Softpaws or Zach Galifianakis’ Humpty Dumpty, will return for the second. Puss might also embark on this quest by himself. Having him begin on a search without the assistance of any prior comrades would be true to his renegade nature.
Puss has made appearances in the “Shrek” films for nearly 17 years. That’s a long time for a cat to live, and he must be aware of this, for “The Last Wish” revolves around Puss’ attempt to extend his life by a small amount. Puss begins his quest for the mystical Last Wish after wasting eight of his nine lives in the span of his escapades. “The Last Wish” has more creative storey aspects than other “Shrek” films, which is intriguing.. but not surprising. While folklore abounds around wishes, no current fairy tales describe a “Last Wish.” Nobody knows if the film’s titular Last Wish has anything to do with other mythological figures like genies. In September, all the mysteries will be revealed to the public.
