SO THE DORA AND THE LOST CITY OF GOLD SECURE THE TOP RANK OF IMAGEN AWARDS

Dora and the Lost City of Gold is an American adventure comedy film-themed an animated TV series Dora and the Explorer which is directed by James Bobin. It is a live-action adaptation of the TV series. The film arrived in theatres on August 9, 2019, and received positive responses which led the movie to grab awards at Imagen 2020.

Awards won by the movie in IMAGEN AWARDS

The IMAGEN award show was held virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic. The film ‘Dora and the Lost City of Gold’ has dominated the award show named Imagen 2020 with securing three awards. 

The movie has been award for best feature film, and James Bobin has been awarded for the best director. Isabela Merced was awarded for one of the two awards for best actress in a feature film. 

The award for best actress was shared by Isabela and Hustler star Jennifer Lopez as they ended up with a tie. The award for the best actor was given to Wagner Moura for his outstanding performance in Sergio.

Who else shined in the award show?

Along with this movie, there was another TV series which was the center of the talk in the award show named ‘Little America and Law and Order’. The series managed to secure two awards this year. 

The series won awards for the top comedy prize given to Mr. Iglesias along with SVU taking the award for the best primetime program. Manni Prez won an award for best-supporting actress-Television. The comedy series also received awards for the best actress and supporting actor categories.

What else you should know about the “Imagen Award 2020”? 

The shows and the awards were presented by Jamie Camil, Gabriel Iglesias, Kate de Castillo, Danny Pino, Gina Torres, Mishel Prada, Isabella Gomez, Kenny Ortega, and many more.

Many beautiful performances were made. Merced and Madison Reyes followed by Angela Aguilar, La Marisoul, and Gaby Moreno performed in the award show.

Based on a suggestion of Norman Lear to encourage the Latinos, Imagen awards were started in 1985.

A total of 35 candidates made their place on the award list.
