Frozen II is a 2019 American computer-animated musical fantasy film directed by Chris Buck and released by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the studio’s 58th animated feature and the sequel to Frozen (2013). The film stars Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Josh Gad, and Jonathan Groff and is directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee from a screenplay by Lee, produced by Peter Del Vecho, and executive produced by Byron Howard.
The plot follows Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven as they embark on a trip beyond their realm of Arendelle in an attempt to find the origin of Elsa’s magical powers and preserve their homeland when a strange voice cries out to Elsa.
Frozen II debuted on November 7, 2019, in Los Angeles, and was released in the United States on November 22, 2019. The film garnered mostly favourable reviews from critics, who lauded its animation, music, music, and voice acting.
During its theatrical run, it grossed $1.450 billion worldwide, making it the third highest-grossing picture of 2019, the tenth highest-grossing picture of all time, and the second highest-grossing animated picture of all time.

Plot
King Agnarr of Arendelle tells Elsa and Anna a storey about their grandfather, King Runeard, making a truce with a neighbouring tribe of Northuldra by building a dam in their country, the Enchanted Forest. However, a battle breaks out, killing Runeard and enraging the forest’s elemental spirits of Earth, Fire, Water, and Air. The spirits vanish, and everyone is trapped in the Enchanted Forest by a wall of mist. Young Agnarr narrowly escapes thanks to the assistance of an unknown saviour.
Elsa celebrates fall in the kingdom three years after her coronation with Anna, Olaf the snowman, Kristoff the ice harvester, and Kristoff’s reindeer Sven.
When Elsa hears a mysterious voice calling out to her one night, she follows it and unwittingly wakes the elemental spirits, forcing everyone in the kingdom to flee. Grand Pabbie and the Rock Troll colony arrive, and Pabbie advises them that they must right the wrongs by learning the truth about the past.
Following the strange voice, Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff, and Sven set off towards the Enchanted Forest.
After the mist parted due to Elsa’s touch, the Air spirit arrived in the shape of a tornado and pulled everyone into its vortex. Elsa comes to a halt, making a series of ice sculptures. The sculptures, the sisters find, are pictures from their father’s history.
They come upon the Northuldra and a troop of Arendellian troops who are still at odds. Elsa discovers the Fire spirit to be an anxious magical salamander and soothes it down when it arrives.
After finding that their mother, Queen Iduna, was a Northuldran who had saved Agnarr, an Arendellian, Elsa and Anna negotiate a ceasefire between the troops and the Northuldra. They subsequently discover the presence of a fifth spirit who will connect the people with nature’s power.
Elsa, Anna, and Olaf proceed north, leaving Kristoff and Sven in their wake. They discover their parents’ damaged ship as well as a chart depicting a route to Ahtohallan, a mythological river revealed to them by their mother to hold all explanations for the past. Elsa takes Anna and Olaf to safety and proceeds on her own.
She meets and tames the Nkk, the Water spirit who defends Ahtohallan’s sea. Elsa realises, upon reaching Ahtohallan, a glacier, that the voice calling to her was the memory of young Iduna’s cry; that her talents were a gift from nature as a result of Iduna’s noble deed of saving Agnarr; and that Elsa herself is the fifth spirit.
Elsa discovers that the dam was constructed as a hoax to decrease the Northuldra’s resources due to King Runeard’s disdain for the tribe’s connection to magic and his goal to wipe them out and assimilate the territory into the realm.
She later discovers that Runeard was the one who started the battle by murdering the unarmed Northuldra commander in cold blood. Elsa conveys this information to Anna before getting frozen as a result of wandering into Ahtohallan’s most perilous area. As a result, Olaf gradually fades away.
Anna comes to the conclusion that the dam must be dismantled in order for peace to be restored. Anna locates and wakes the massive Earth spirits before luring them to the dam.
The giants throw stones at Anna, destroying the dam and causing a torrent to flow down the fjord into the realm. Elsa thaws and returns to Arendelle, diverting the floodwaters and saving the realm.
Elsa reunites with Anna and revives Olaf as the mist dissipates, and Anna accepts Kristoff’s marriage proposal. Elsa says that she and Anna serve as a link between the human race and the magical spirits.
After that, Anna becomes the new Queen of Arendelle, while Elsa becomes the keeper of the Enchanted Forest, visiting Arendelle on a regular basis now that peace has been restored.
In a post-credits sequence, Olaf visits Elsa’s ice palace and tells Marshmallow and the Snowgies about his adventures.
