- R. Prakashbabu and S. R. Prabhu produce it under the Dream Warrior Pictures banner, and Tiruppur Vivek co-produces it under the Vivekananda Pictures banner.
Sam C. S. composed the film’s score and soundtrack. Sathyan Sooryan did the cinematography, and Philomin Raj edited the film.
It was said to be influenced by the American film Assault on Precinct 13 from 1976. In the film, a newly released prisoner races against the clock to deliver poisoned cops to a hospital in exchange for meeting his daughter, all while avoiding criminals pursuing the lorry.
A 10-year-old girl named Amudha is told by the caretakers at a children’s hostel for orphaned girls that someone important will meet her at 10:00 a.m. the next morning. She waits with bated breath, unsure who it might be.
Inspector Bejoy and his team apprehend a smuggling van containing a lot of drugs and a gang of smugglers. The contraband was smuggled by a gang led by Adaikalam, whom no police officers have seen or know what he looks like. Anbu, Adaikalam’s brother, intends to apprehend the five police officers, assassinate them, and reclaim the contraband from them.
According to Anbu’s scheme, after drinking poisoned beverages at a higher official’s retirement party, all of the city’s police officers become unconscious. Bejoy, who was on medicine and couldn’t drink, attempts to save the lives of all the unconscious officials without letting on to the media or anybody else.
He threatens Dilli, an ex-prisoner who was with him when he was detained for looking suspicious (and is the only one who can drive the lorry), that if he doesn’t help him save the officers’ lives, he will not let him meet his daughter Amudha for the first time the next morning, using a lorry borrowed from Kamatchi, a caterer present at the party.
Dilli tells Kamatchi to accompany them because he knows the routes and roads well. Dilli, Bejoy, and Kamatchi work together to load the officials’ unconscious bodies into the lorry and try to get them to the hospital as quickly as possible without causing any casualties.
Although Anbu offers a large sum of money as a reward for capturing the cops, Bejoy and his team are pursued by gangsters from Anbu’s gangs.
They are led by Paalpandi, a crooked cop (hired by Anbu’s Zonal Head of Narcotics Division, Stephen Raj) who acts unwittingly while providing the gangs with details about the location of the lorry.
Meanwhile, the drugs, as well as Adaikalam’s men who are in jail, are concealed at the commissioner’s office.
Bejoy orders constable Napoleon and a group of college students detained due to drunken driving to close all possible exits and try to hold the gangsters outside the commissioner’s office at the expense of their own lives as they wait for higher officials, as Anbu and his gang prepare to take the drugs and free Adaikalam’s men.
As Dilli, Bejoy, and Kamatchi come across the different gangs, Dilli violently dispatches them. Bejoy instructs Napoleon to strike a deal with the Adaikalam captured men back at the building. Napoleon enlists the help of one of the men, Anbu, who offers to release the prisoners in return for the safety of Napoleon and the students.
Surprisingly, Anbu is on board. However, Bejoy discovers that his men have unwittingly captured Adaikalam and instructs Napoleon to cancel the agreement. Adaikalam tries to lead Anbu into the commissioner’s office, but the students play loud music on purpose to drown out Adaikalam’s voice. Anbu succeeds in climbing to the roof and breaking into the building, but he is apprehended and imprisoned by the students.
Dilli and Kamatchi are able to move the unconscious officers from the hospital to a school bus, which will take them to the commissioner’s office. Paalpandi then persuades them that he is fine, and they accompany him.
However, they are attacked by another mob, which assaults Bejoy, and Paalpandi stabs Dilli twice in the back. Despite this, Dilli kills Paalpandi and the gangsters while freeing Bejoy and making his way to the house. Anbu’s gang manages to trap a student outside the building and executes him on Anbu’s orders.
In a fit of rage, Napoleon bludgeons and kills Anbu with a fire extinguisher, prompting Adaikalam to swear that he will kill them all and their families. Dilli, Bejoy, and Kamatchi arrive at the structure. Dilli enters the building alone via a hidden underground tunnel and sends the students out via the same passage, as he and Napoleon go to burn the drugs.
When the duo enters the drug storage area, they are surprised to discover a seized Gatling rifle. Rather than just burning the drugs, Napoleon decides to kill all of the drug traffickers. When the goons break-in, they make their way to the ground floor. Outside the house, Dilli uses the gun to kill all of Anbu’s gang.
All of the cops are revived, and Bejoy discovers his department’s moles. Stephen Raj is charged, and all of the wounded are taken to the Government Hospital for treatment. Bejoy expresses his gratitude to Dilli and assures him that he will soon arrange a comfortable life for him and his daughter.
Dilli’s daughter Amudha is brought to the spot by the doctor from Dilli’s jail, and they exchange joyful tears. Dilli, Amudha, and Kamatchi embark on a journey to Dilli’s village.
One of the captured men informs Adaikalam that Dilli, who had no links to the gangs, was the main reason for all of their defeats, to which Adaikalam responds that Dilli does have ties, implying that a sequel is possible.
