Marvel is not best known for its female representation. So when it was hinted that the Endgame would feature an all-female squad fans were very excited. But the representation in the movie was disappointing and felt like shallow fan service. It was not even close to the A-Force (Marvel’s first all-female team of Avengers) as told.

Are all the superhero franchises sexist?
This needs to stop and Marvel should put in conscious efforts to improve its female representation.
It wouldn’t be fair to say all the superhero films are male-centric. We have seen DC put in so much effort into sculpting female characters such as Gal Gaddot’s Wonder woman (You can watch the trailer of the upcoming Wonder Woman movie.
And Margot Robbie’s character Harley Quinn seems to get the attention she deserves too. But Marvel’s only female-centric movie is Captain Marvel (2019). You can watch the trailer of the movie here-
What should the Marvel Cinematic Universe work on?
The forthcoming releases of Black Widow and Disney+ series like WandaVision, Ms. Marvel, and She-Hulk indicates that the franchise is heading in the right direction. But this wouldn’t be enough. Movies are just a representation of our mindset as a society and the lack of female superheroes certainly has shown that we are not as open-minded as we think.
