The 5th season of Riverdale released on the online streaming service Netflix in January 2021 only and got a brilliant reception. It seems to celebrate this, the show creators have confirmed that Riverdale will be renewed for a 6th season!
THE ANNOUNCEMENT
The CW Network, which produces the show, announced the 6th season of Riverdale early in February 2021. Apart from Riverdale, CW also renewed a number of other hit series of theirs. The decision seems obvious given the huge success of season 5 and it is over yet. Let’s have a look on few more important details of season 6.
THE CAST
Till now no official announcement as been made, apart from the renewal announcement, one can expect to see the season 5 cast returning for season 6. Which means we will most likely see KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Veronica Lodge and Cole Sprouse in season 6 of Riverdale.

Plot of season 6 properly depends on the ending of season 5. As in season 5 the show jumped ahead 7 years in time, one can expect the story of season 6 to be entirely different and new. Riverdale fans are discussing extensively what all can happen in season 6 over the social media.
RELEASE DATE
CW has announced that all the shows they have renewed will go under production earlier than usual as in the previous year things got too delayed due to the pandemic. It will be safe to say Riverdale Season 6 will come out during the usual premiere time of the show which is around October every year.
