Alex Pina’s international hit action crime thriller Money Heist, which is in its fifth and final season, and the British-Spanish mystery thriller White Lines have performed extremely well on Netflix. Following the initial success of these Spanish assets, Netflix Spain went ahead and ordered seven new series, one of which was Pina’s next project Sky Rojo.
The series stars Veronica Sanchez, Lali Esposito, and Yany Prado as three prostitutes on the run after a less-than-ideal experience with their pimp Romeo, which results in two of his cronies tracking down the formidable trio. This action-packed thrill ride has audiences on the edge of their seats the whole time, with just the right amount of comedy to leave everyone wanting more.
Sky Rojo season 2 has yet to be given an official release date, and it could be some time before we hear more on when fans can mark their calendars for the highly awaited sequel.
