We don’t have to wait too long before seeing how Ridley Scott has dealt with one of the most popular homicide cases of the past 30 years. In April 2020, when MGM purchased the House of Gucci distribution rights, the Hollywood Reporter observed that the film was scheduled to land on theatres on Wednesday, 24 November 2021, one of the most critical times of the year, which had the movies premiered before Thanksgiving weekends.
Should its release date be set, House of Gucci will release another Adam Driver movie, which is scheduled to open on 15 October 2021, around one month after Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel.
House of Gucci will tell the tale of Patrizia Reggiani’s ex-wife, played by Lady Gaga is the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci. She was found guilty of hiring a hitman to murder her former husband on 27 March 1995 at the Milan Luxury Mode Brand office lobby. The assassination took place just four years after the Reggiani divorced Gucci from a prolonged separation in 1985. Two years later, Reggiani was arrested and eventually prosecuted for her role in the murder for hire plot in 1998. In October 2016, she was released from jail. Robert Bentivegna, who writes the movie, based it on the script of The House of Gucci: a sensational story of murder, madness, glamour or greed, by Saraga Gay Forden.
The House of Gucci cast is headed by Lady Gaga and Adam Driver, but the performers who fill the cast are as abundant and recognisable as the two. The House of Gucci will complement Jared Leto, Al Pacino, Jack Huston, Reeve Carney, Camille Cottin and more. Once Robert De Niro was assumed to be Rodolfo Gucci, the original reports have not been released, and Jeremy Irons has played the part.
It will be exciting to see how these amazing actors perform and if the story is as unique as it sounds.
