The show first released on Netflix on February 1, 2019, and has been praised for its work before. It has been nominated for the Emmy Awards five times and its other nominations include Allison Silverman for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, Nataha Lyonne for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, Ammy Pehler, Natasha Lyonne & Leslye Headland for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, the series (Russian Doll) itself got nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series, and its other mention also entails Christopher Place being nominated for the Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Comedy Series or a Variety Program.

The first season of the show revolved around the life of Nadia Vulvokov (Natasha Lyonne) who apparently is a game developer stuck in an ongoing time loop as she dies repeatedly but still survives for yet another game. She then tried to figure out what exactly is happening to her and in the midst finds a man suffering from the same scenario.
