The first limited series, was announced in March. We learned at the time that “We OJustiis City” is based on the non-fiction book of the same name by Baltimore investigative journalist Justin Fenton. The executive producer of “The Wire,” David Simon, has also been revealed as the executive producer of “We Own The City.” Simon has established himself as the leading television creator over the last two decades and has a strong relationship with HBO.

Simon and the cable giant have collaborated on a number of projects, including “The Wire,” “Show Me a Hero,” “The Deuce,” and, most recently, “The Plot Against America.” According to sources, Simon and fellow “The Wire” producer George Pelecanos have been planning another complex and stiff crime drama for our TV screens since 2019 – two years before Fenton’s book was published.

“Monsters and Men” and the upcoming Warner Bros. film King Richard,” “Reinaldo Marcus Green,” director of the tense films “Joe Bell,” will direct all six episodes of the event, according to additional information on “We Own The City.”

When are we going to get it release

According to the IMDb page for the limited series, “We Own This City” will be released in 2022.

However, the expected release date has yet to be confirmed, so don’t get too excited about the HBO premiere next year. Nonetheless, filming on “We Own The City” is set to begin at the end of July 2021. The filming should be finished by the autumn of 2021, giving the episodes plenty of time to edit and create trailers to promote the next series. If we’re willing to air “We Own The City” for another year, we could at least set the first day for spring 2022.

Coast of We Owe this City

In the months leading up to the start of filming, “We Own This City” has amassed an impressive cast.
