The North American premiere of ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ has concluded in Los Angeles, and the first internet reactions to the dinosaur-centric sequel have begun to pour in. They range from happy nostalgia to angry outrage. “Dominion,” like most of the “Jurassic” sequels, has received mixed reviews.
This is the final installment in the saga, and the cast includes both familiar and new faces from the “Jurassic” films. Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum all reprise their roles from Steven Spielberg’s original 1993 film.
Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard return from “Jurassic World” and “Jurassic World: the Fallen Kingdom,” as do newcomers DeWanda Wise and Mamoudou Athie.
Following the events of “Fallen Kingdom,” “Dominion” begins with dinosaurs roaming the Earth, pressuring humans to defend their position as the planet’s apex predators. Colin Trevorrow, who directed Jurassic World, will return to direct the final episode.
The sequel to “Jurassic World Dominion” will not be released in North America until Friday, with a limited global release in 15 countries beginning on Friday. Over the weekend, the sequel earned $55.4 million at the global box office, with Mexico and Korea leading the way.
Variety film critic Jazz Tangcay described the film as a “roaring enjoyable adventure.” Tangcay stated, “The dinosaurs are bigger and better than ever before.”
Clayton Davis, Variety’s senior awards editor, called the film “nostalgia on steroids,” but he didn’t say much about the sequel because “it’s going to make so much money.”
Variety contributor Courtney Howard called the film “BAD” and claimed that “Dominion” was the lowest-quality film in the series.
The reunion of Neill, Dern, and Goldblum’s characters is highlighted as the film’s strength by Digital Spy’s Ian Sandwell, who calls the film “underwhelming for a finale.”
Jurassic World Dominion, my personal favorite of the new Jurassic trilogy, is now available! Aside from Jeff Goldblum and exciting dinosaur encounters, the film contains a nice mix of eerie and imaginative scenarios, as well as some subtle nods to previous films. Finally, a good outcome
Jurassic World Dominion has excellent physical and digital effects. Images of dinosaurs that are breathtaking It’s amazing to see Dimetrodon in action! Bryce Dallas Howard, the new trilogy’s star, is nothing short of a show-stealer. Claire has undergone an incredible transformation, and Howard has joined her on her journey.
Very bad. Dominion of the Jurassic World. It’s dreadful. There are numerous uninteresting, unrelated storylines, and the dinosaurs serve only as props. They give it their all, but it is all a waste of talent. This franchise’s worst nightmare.
The Slash Film Reaction to Jurassic World Dominion gave me the uneasy feeling that it was the worst film in a beloved franchise.
Too long, bad action sequences and an overstuffed package are all common criticisms leveled at the film as a whole. There isn’t much of a difference between nostalgia and newborn dinosaurs.
Unfortunately, Jurassic World Dominion was a colossal flop for me. It’s nice to see the original cast back on screen, but the film falls short of the expectations set by the first two installments.
