This week’s weekly suggestion list is dominated, for the first time, by two web series starring yesteryear Bollywood divas Sushmita Sen and Raveena Tandon.
The two are the stars of two highly anticipated online shows. Sushmita Sen, the former Miss Universe, leads the cast of Season 2 of her immensely popular Aarya. Raveena Tandon, on her part, makes her digital debut with Aranyak, a thriller.
Arya Season 2
The second season of the Emmy-nominated sitcom will follow the story of Aarya, the unflappable mother who is willing to push moral lines in order to protect her family and children.
Aarya is up against Russian drug lords as well as local lumpen groups this time. Her tenacity and bravery must once again save the day for her family. Ram Madhvani, who recently directed the successful film Dhamaka, is in charge of the series’ direction.
Aranyak
Raveena Tandon, a former Bollywood actress, is exploring the waters of streaming platforms with this web series. Patthar Ke Phool, produced by GP Sippy Films, was her feature film début in 1991.
She is presently making her OTT debut with Sippy Films. In that way, she is returning to the beginning of her career. Raveena portrays Kasturi, an investigator entrusted with tracking out a missing young tourist.
Following the disappearance of a foreign young tourist in a foggy town, an under-pressure female officer becomes hot on the trail of a bloodthirsty serial killer monster in a dark sylvan hill.
In exchange, she must team up with a male counterpart who is determined to replace her. He is completely in love with her. The series will be a visual extravaganza in addition to the thrills of murder and mystery.
Pushpaka Vimanam
The plot revolves around Sundar, a math teacher whose life is turned upside down by the loss of his wife. His humdrum existence is becoming a whirlwind. This darkly comic thriller is also a social reflection on arranged weddings, cultural constraints, and moral policing in certain ways.
The film is founded on middle-classness, as shown in Anand Deverakonda’s prior films (Dorasani and Middle-Class Melodies), the brother of Vijay Devarakonda, the film’s producer.
Qatil Haseenaon Ke Naam
A female-centric neo-noir thriller directed by a British Indian lady with a Pakistani cast. This alone should pique your interest.
Menu Gaur, the film’s director, has stated that she intended to present a feminine viewpoint on the narrative of femme Fatales.
