Hawkeye, a new Disney+ series starring Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop, debuted its first-look trailer today. With Jeremy Renner, she plays Clint Barton’s protégé, a role for which she was nominated for an Oscar in 2010’s True Grit remake.
Kate, the self-proclaimed “world’s greatest archer,” emerges on the scene as a new hooded vigilante, and matters only get more complex from there in the holiday-themed promo.
We may also be treated to a stunning Broadway version of Captain America in Rogers The Musical.
For her part, Steinfeld told Entertainment Weekly that the first time she and her co-star were together, they were in an office with a stack of Hawkeye comics on the wall. Then I thought to myself, ‘Oh my God, this is happening. These events are taking place.”
“[Kate is] a 22-year-old youngster, and she’s a huge Hawkeye fan,” Renner said of the archers’ relationship in the series. The fact that she’s such a Hawkeye devotee gives her a deliciously obnoxious and yet lovely demeanour.
However, Clint’s biggest concern is his connection with his girlfriend Kate Bishop and the slew of problems she brings into his life.
However, the actor took it upon himself to ease Steinfeld into the mechanics of the superhero genre, which he did with great success.
“That’s always been my responsibility. I was sheltering her and telling her the CliffsNotes on how this kind of production works: green screen, superhero life, all of that. It was a good idea,” he said.
“I just wanted to protect her from the physical stuff. A beautiful performer and human, I can’t wait to see what she’s capable of doing in the future.”
Hawkeye will be released on Disney+ on November 24. With marvel announcing such great projects, we are finally very excited to see that Hawkeye will be getting a solo movie for himself. Marvel will be exploring the character and creating his own story.
