Hanna is an Action Drama series based on the movie by the same name premiered on Amazon Prime Videos on 29th March 2019 and is written by David Farr. The series is based on the life of a 15-year-old assassin named Hanna who was a part of a CIA program called Utrax, where a child’s DNA was made superior by 3% wolf’s in order to use them as a weapon.
Eric saves Hanna and trains her to fight against Utrax. As soon as Hanna become active, CIA Agent Marissa Wiegler was able to track her down. At the end of Season 1, after Eric’s death Hanna had no choice but to join other girls who were raised in Utrax. In the finale, Hanna tried to convince the other trainees to escape Utrax, but only one girl Clara leaves the Utrax with Hanna. Marissa was seen hunting down Hanna all the times in season 1 and at last, she was the one who helps them to escape.
In the season 2 (already aired on 3rd July 2020), Hanna teaches Clara about survival instincts in the forest but Clara seems to wait eagerly to meet her mother which raises an alarm again. In this season the trainees are moved to a new facility called Meadows where the trainees will enter in new training and it’s about knowing the real world and behave as one of the weapons.
Season 2 is mostly about Utrax and Hanna’s fight against it. We now know who is running Utrax and who is against it, especially Marissa. Initially, she was portrayed as a villain but now she is ready to help Hanna, though she betrays her. The twisty plot of season 2, always keeps us on the toes to think whether Marissa is working for Utrax or against it. Hanna, on the other hand, is all set to defeat Utrax.
In the last episode of Season 2, many of the CIA associates were found dead who were operating the program. Even John Carmichael (Dermot Mulroney) has been shot. By killing those people who killed her parents finally she has become the ultimate killing machine while setting free Clara.
In the end, Marissa learns about the Pioneer “Target List” which will be used to assassinate all the young minds globally. Instead of destroying it, Marissa’s says “I will run the show now” with Hanna’s help of course. However, Hanna is completely unaware of this mission. The episode ends with Hanna’s question “So what now?”
It is quite possible that season 3 is on the way where Marissa and Hanna will fight against each other or with a bigger evil as a team again. Hanna falls into another conspiracy plotted by Marissa.
