Your favorite supervillain duo is back for a third-round!
Back at it again for a third season is your fun-loving di-hair colored psycho next door with her green partner in crime and BFF, Poison Ivy. Since it’s the first premiere on November 29, 2019, the adult animated series received massive love from both viewers and critics alike praising its dark humor and voice acting.
The series already saw a second premiere on April 3, 2020, and just months after the news of its renewal for season three has delighted DC fans all over the world.
This news comes at the heel of DC Universe announcing their transition to solely comic book subscription service DC Universe Infinite with more than 24,000 comic books in the bag slated to launch on January 21, 2021. Thus, the animated series will premiere the third season on HBO Max along with other DC Originals under Warner Media’s flagship.
Release:
Earlier with the pandemic, many including the creators of the show, Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker and Dean Lorey believed the future of the show to be bleak. They encouraged fans to create “noise” like our anti-heroine might, however, the news was withheld so the DC Universe could smoothly work out the major transition.
Although, no release date of the upcoming season accompanied with the good news of its renewal. Given the current scenario and difficulty in production owing to the coronavirus pandemic, a slight delay can be expected in the release of the third season.
Thankfully the series is not a live adaptation but rather an animation. If filmed under the safety guidelines and protocols, one can expect the third season to release mid-2021. Doesn’t that call for a celebration?!
