Everybody is quite aware of Hollywood’s obsession with remaking and bringing back popular series but when the Harry Potter star Bonnie Wright who played Ginny as Ron Weasley’s younger sister and Harry’s eventual wife, was asked about her views on rebooting the story of the wizarding world at the Warner Bros Studios Tour in California, she gave her disapproval by explaining why the reboot should not be done.
Bonnie Wright said, “I would hope that they keep it as it was,” Wright declared. “I think it’s like a time capsule, and [if] you open it and it changes, everything feels kind of different.
“For sure, I miss playing Ginny, but I always quite like the idea that it’s properly compacted into those seven years at Hogwarts.” With this she didn’t forget to mention her desire to revisit the magical world. She admitted that if she had an opportunity to work again, she would gladly do it.
Wright added, “I love the experience so much,” also she continued, “And I know that the production and all of us would do it so well that no matter what they imagined, it would be brilliant.” Apart from this she also mentioned that the fans shouldn’t expect a reunion anytime soon; saying she expects we’re ten to twenty years away from them getting Dumbledore’s Army back together again.
Last year, Lucious Malfoy played by Jason Isaacs was asked about the rebooting and he obviously condemned the idea by saying, “Do I think anyone should remake them? As much as I think anyone should remake The Godfather, or Some Like it Hot, or anything that was brilliant, I thought they were perfectly made at the perfect time by the perfect people, and that it would be insane to remake them.”
