Venom has a long and strange tradition in Marvel Comics, which the 2018 Sony Pictures film only touches on. Todd McFarlane and David Michelinie developed the character as we know him today, and he first appeared in 1988 as “Venom” rather than Spider-“The Man’s Alien Costume.” Venom and the symbiotes have grown in prominence in the Marvel Universe since then, with villains like Carnage and Knull wreaking havoc on not only Spider-Man, but everyone.
In September 2021, “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” will be published. Tom Hardy will reprise his role as Eddie Brock, who has mostly ironed out his tense relationship with Venom after struggling to do so in the first film.
Cletus Kasady, aka Carnage, was created by Michelinie and Mark Bagley and first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1992. Woody Harrelson will play him opposite Hardy. There are several hypotheses about “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” including how Venom will fit into the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe and which villains will appear in this and subsequent films. Here’s how it works.
Carnage would result from the riot.
Riz Ahmed played Carlton Drake, a scientist who becomes bonded to the Riot symbiote and fights Eddie and Venom in “Venom.” Riot will morph into Carnage in subsequent films, according to ScreenRant.
While the trailer for “Let There Be Carnage” strongly suggests otherwise, this theory may still be right. Riot might, at the very least, be a challenge on par with Carnage in terms of size and scope, putting Eddie in a precarious position as he and Venom attempt to battle them both.
Riot debuted in Marvel Comics in 1993, created by David Michelinie and Ron Lim. Riot and his four symbiote “siblings” were formed from seeds taken from Venom by the Life Foundation, making Riot Venom’s son.
While Venom has easily defeated all five of them at once without breaking a sweat, the five suffer from separation anxiety and normally work together.
This is partly due to the fact that the five symbiotic organisms are still young and hence less capable of regulating their hosts. In the comics, Riot forms a bond with the mercenary Trevor Cole, but after Cole’s death, he bounces from host to host.
Riot’s Cletus Kasady may have bonded or would bond with Harrelson’s Cletus Kasady at some point. The symbiotes could team up against Venom and cause a lot of confusion and devastation, but this does not necessarily mean Riot would become Carnage.
Movie Riot isn’t as young since he was supposedly discovered by the Life Foundation rather than produced by it. This gives him more influence over his guests. Plus, as movie Riot has already shown, he prefers to switch hosts, so something could happen.
Venom’s son would be Carnage.
Woody Harrelson’s Cletus Kasady transforms into the legendary Marvel Comics villain Carnage in the new “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” trailer.
Kasady is seen being experimented on and bonding with the Carnage symbiote in the trailer before breaking out of Ravencroft Institute for the Criminally Insane, where he’s been kept for some time.
Carnage’s origin in the trailer differs from that in the comics, but as ScreenRant predicted in 2020, Carnage will most likely remain Venom’s sibling.
Venom gets Eddie into enough trouble in the comics that he ends up in jail, but he doesn’t stay there for long. Venom assists him in his escape and leaves behind a spawn, which grows into Carnage. Symbiotes do not have emotional attachments to their offspring, but they can sense their location.
After bonding with Kasady, Eddie’s cellmate, Carnage finds out how to keep Venom from tracking him, making him even more dangerous.
Eddie didn’t go to Ravencroft in the first “Venom” film, and it doesn’t appear that he will in the sequel. They did, however, meet in prison: Eddie interviewed Kasady in the “Venom” mid-credits scene, while he was incarcerated in a smaller, less safe facility. Kasady tells Eddie in the sequel’s trailer, “It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you.
I’d been missing you terribly.” Despite the fact that they didn’t share a cell, the Life Foundation might have gotten a seed from Venom at any point and turned him into Carnage, rendering him Venom’s offspring.
