It is inspired on the atrocities committed by an Anglican clergyman named “Mathew Pieris” of the Church of St. Paul the Apostle, Kynsey Road, Colombo 10, who was convicted in 1979 of the double murders of his wife (Eunice Pieris) and his lover’s husband, Russel Ingram. The film stars Alston Koch and sensational Indian actress Jacqueline Fernandez.
It is the 1316th Sri Lankan film to be released in Sinhala theatres. The historical events in the film were filmed at Horana Kumbuke Mansion in Sri Lanka.
The film was originally set to premiere in Sri Lanka on April 7, 2017, but was postponed until early 2018. The film was first shown in CEL cinemas on November 24, 2018.

Father Matthew Peries, a socially prominent, influential, and sought-after Protestant priest of St Pauls Church in Colombo, and sought-after Exorcist, planned with his lover to murder his wife and the mistress’s husband in the late 1970s by poisoning the victims with steady overdoses of insulin. Because of his social status, he was able to avoid detection and continue his malicious actions without fear.
