Unmistakably, “Ghosted” is still a long way off from being ready for prime time. We haven’t heard anything about a release date yet. However, assuming that filming can begin in 2022, the film should be released in 2023.
To our minds, if the picture were being released theatrically, it would be the perfect film for the summer months to come. In addition, filmgoers who wish to see something that isn’t based on the pre-existing intellectual property might find it appealing.
In recent years, however, things have shifted more positively. It’s no longer a barrier for streaming services to release any genre of film at any time of the year. For example, the “Fear Street” trilogy premiered in 2021 during the “summer of frights” instead of October, when it was closer to Halloween. In the months to come, we’ll have additional information about this initiative.
Even though “Ghosted” features two actors, they’re some of the greatest names in Hollywood right now. She is starting with Scarlett Johansson, who is carving out quite a niche for herself on Apple TV+. Bride, another Apple original, will come before “Ghosted,” with the actress playing the lead role. You’ll see her as the “perfect wife” of a brilliant businessman. Even after her Disney lawsuit, it appears that the actress won’t have too much trouble finding work.
Chris Evans, one of Johansson’s “Avengers” co-stars, will appear with her. “Winter Soldier” viewers already know how well the two artists work together. So it doesn’t matter who fills out the rest of the cast. The presence of these two performers is enough to draw plenty of attention to the project.
It’s still unclear what “Ghosted” will be about, but we do have a rough concept of what it will be about. As reported by THR, the film is described as “a high concept romantic action-adventure film” similar to 1984’s romantic adventure “Romancing the Stone.” Fans will be in for a fantastic treat, especially since they’ll be able to watch it from the comfort of their own homes with the Apple TV+ app, which will be available in the coming weeks.
It’s no secret that Apple has been aggressively acquiring high-profile projects for its streaming service. We have Martin Scorsese’s upcoming feature and a movie on the beginnings of the video game “Tetris” to look forward to. Apple TV+ subscriptions are a great idea if you don’t already have one.
