However, the writing team behind Ghosts has made it quite obvious that they wish to continue with the sitcom for a fourth season. Mathew Baynton, the show’s co-creator and star, who portrays hopeless romantic poet Thomas Thorne, has claimed that there are “more stories to tell” about the show’s many notable characters.
This comes after The Captain’s Ben Willbond said it’s “very challenging” to determine what to include when there’s so much uncertainty about how many more episodes they would get. However, due to the second series of Ghosts being announced by the BBC just eight days after the first series ended, we may receive some answers very soon.
Two more seasons were ordered, but it doesn’t imply the broadcaster will do the same thing a second time around as well. Ghosts will be remade in America and will premiere in October. The original creators have lately commented on the new version.
Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Matha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond will likely be back for another season if Ghosts is renewed for a second season. Apart from being cast members, they came up with the concept and had previously worked together on CBBC’s Horrible Histories and Sky One’s Yonderland.
This would require crucial cast members Charlotte Ritchie and Kiell Smith-Bynoe and Lolly Adefope, and Katy Wix. Barclay Beg-Chetwynde, who has been both Mike and Alison’s friend and nemesis over the past three seasons, could also make a return in the form of Geoff McGivern.
Various plot lines run over multiple episodes of Ghosts, even though most of the episodes are self-contained. We’ve been following Mike and Alison’s attempts to rehabilitate the old Button House in hopes of turning it into a stunning venue for events and accommodations.
In the meantime, each season provides new disclosures about the lives of Button House’s departed residents, revealing the circumstances of their deaths in stories that range from humorously morbid to heartbreaking. If there is a fourth season, we do not expect Lucy to return, given the mystery surrounding her character has been resolved by the end of season three.
