High Score is the 2020 documentary series about classic video games featuring insights from the innovators who brought these worlds and characters to life. The series is narrated by Charles Martinet, the same person who voiced Mario himself! The show became quite a hit both among the gaming community and the general public.

Will there be a second season?

The show has got a decent score of 7.6/10 on IMDb. And many old school gamers have demanded a second season as well. So there’s a chance of this docuseries coming getting a sequel. But there have been no official announcements yet.

What will be the plot of the second season?

In the first most of the games from the 1970s to early 1990s were discussed. Unlike many other documentary series, this one apart from focussing on mainstream games such as Super Mario and Pac-Man also gives equal importance to underrated games such as Heineman, Lawson, and Best.

So probably, we may see the video games from 1990’s till date in the next season.

Some criticism regarding the show

“These personal and often unexpected stories are easily the highlight of High Score, and they’re occasionally the only thing that saves it from turning into the public school version of a video game history lesson.” the A.V. Club said. Let’s hope that such criticisms doesn’t stop the show from getting another season.

Even as a little girl, I was fascinated by words. The idea of stringing words together to form meaningful sentences which could alter the emotions of other human beings excited me. At first I wrote fiction. It gave me a chance to live the different lives I’ve always wanted to. The way my friends reacted when they read my story gave me the greatest of joys. As I grew older, I realised that there are thousands of stories of people around me that deserved to be told. Then I started incorporating their stories to my fictional stories. Over the time, I leaned more towards article writing. I have always felt that writing is my super power. A power I could wield to bring joy and comfort to me and the people I care about.
