‘Hillbilly Elegy’ on Netflix: November 2020 Release & What We Know So Far

Here is great news for all Netflix lovers. Netflix is growing day by day and this time it is going to do something different. Yes, you heard it right.

This time, Netflix is going to adapt the story of the 2016 book “Hillbilly Elegy” by J.D. Vance and portray it in the form of a movie that will be directed by Ron Howard. The release date of the movie is decided to be 24 November 2020. 

Something about the book “Hillbilly Elegy”:

The story of the movie revolves around the life of an American living in the rust-belt of New York. The book was launched during the election campaigns of 2016 and it was the most prominent book of that time. 

A short synopsis of the movie:

The trailer of the movie is released in October 2020 and it gives a short synopsis about the movie as- “A law student from Yale visits her hometown with her family who follows the American dream. It is based on Memoir- the best seller”. It is a family movie and portrays the story of three different generations and how they go through ups and downs which defines the family experience.

The shooting venue of “Hillbilly Elegy”:

The shooting plan of the movie was started in January 2019 and the actual shooting was started in January 2019. The venue is decided to be Atlanta, Georgia, and Ohio (here shooting was began on 5 August 2019).

Casts of the movie:

Haley Bennett as Lindsay. Her former works include “The Magnificent Seven” and “The Red Sea Diving Resort”.

Amy Adams as Bev. Her former works include “Arrival” and “Sharp Objects”.

And along with these two, Bo Hopkins, Gabriel Basso, Sunny Mabrey, and Glenn Close are going to play a prominent role in the movie.

Stephen Kunken is also going to appear in the movie as decided in early August. He was last seen in “Billions” and “The Handmaid’s Tale”.
