Mandy Richardson and Darren Osborne’s wedding has ended in shocking scenes in Hollyoaks, as Ella Richardson was arrested.
Last week, Darren (Ashley Taylor Dawson) found a letter from Ella (Erin Palmer) to Charlie (Charlie Behan) confessing her guilt over Jordan Price’s death, and the wedding was called of.
When Ella (Jessica Fox) arrived on Monday’s (March 15) first look episode, Darren, Nancy (Jessica Fox), and Jack (Jimmy McKenna) were demanding answers from Mandy.
“Tell them about it.”
“I can’t take it any longer,” Ella expressed her dissatisfaction.
Nancy could barely contain her anger when Mandy revealed, after some prodding from Ella, that she’d been letting Charlie off the hook for Jordan’s murder.
Nancy snarled, “You absolute slut.”
Darren maintained that the wedding had never happened in his mind.
He then tried to call the cops, but Nancy had a different plan in mind.
“Mum to mum, let’s hunker down.”
Mandy insinuated to Nancy that “all” she wanted for Ella’s future was what she’d wanted for her late daughter Grace, as Darren and Jack returned to check on Ella.
“Are you trying to trick me by using Grace’s death?”
Nancy had inquired.
“Because I’ve suffered failure.
Loss has left a scar on my heart.
It’s a challenge for me to get out of bed in the morning because I’m so burdened with grief.
So I do it anyway.
And I’d never use my own personal tragedy as an excuse to lock up an innocent child!”
Nancy maintained that Mandy had “hit the basement” in terms of how low she’d go in order to exploit as Mandy tried to justify that “DJ has his problems too.”
“You aren’t a loser.
Mandy tried to reassure her, “You’ve never been a loser.”
“You’ve always been the superior individual.”
Though it seemed that the two were bonding for a brief moment, Nancy understood Mandy’s effort to exploit her when she said Nancy’s “power” made it easier to deal with Charlie in jail.
Nancy remarked, “You almost had me there.”
“It’s just because you can get what you want, which is one kid sentenced to life in jail for a murder he didn’t commit and mentally traumatised by trying to keep up with the Joneses.”
“Mandy, that’s two children you’ve abused to the point of insanity!
Do you have any idea who you are?
It’s time you admitted you’re an abhorrent, hateful excuse for a mother.”
Back at the door, Jack stepped in to support Mandy by explaining that he understood why she had wanted to defend Ella…
Perhaps Darren might as well.
Darren went to The Hutch, where Nancy sarcastically left saying she’d had a “heart-to-heart” with Mandy.
Mandy then appealed to Darren, saying that they didn’t want two kids to go to jail because Charlie may be charged with lying to the cops as well.
“Ella couldn’t sit indoors for more than a day.”
Mandy said that it would kill her.

Darren seemed to be warming up to the idea that watching two of their children serve time in jail wasn’t the solution – but then Nancy showed up and slapped Mandy for threatening Charlie during their latest video call.”
“I’m so sorry Ella,” Nancy said, “but I have to do this.”
Ella was later apprehended by a police officer on suspicion of Jordan Price’s murder.
As Mandy sobbed, Darren admitted helplessly that there was nothing he could do.
“Oh, Ella, no,” Mandy exclaimed at the end of the show.
New episodes of Hollyoaks air Monday through Friday at 6.30 p.m. on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7 p.m. on E4.
