This is Us is a drama TV series following the lives of three siblings Kevin, Kate, and Randall. The show has been a huge success and has a score of 8.7/10 on IMDb and 92% on Rotten Tomatoes.
A Bump in the road!
The actress Mandy Moore, who plays the role of Rebecca was recently pregnant with her first child, right around the production of the fifth season.
This would certainly mean that there would be some changes to the show and her role was crucial as her future self has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.
She confessed that she was nervous about breaking the news to the team and told Fogelman about her pregnancy before even revealing it to some of her own family!
What was the show’s producer’s initial reaction?
In an interview with ET, Dan Fogelman said, “From my perspective, I was just happy for Mandy. And so, yeah, we haven’t really adjusted our plan. We’re just going to work Mandy right ‘til go time.
Amongst the many challenges of this season of production, that’s not a big one. We are so far ahead in scripts that we can compensate for things as need be.
Because our timelines are so split and because we live in so many timelines, there may be a brief period and window where you don’t see a lot of old Rebecca on the show because she would have some really complicated explaining to do.
But other than that, we’re going to be sticking with the plan and we couldn’t be happier for Mandy.”
