Alita: The Battle Angel, is a hit 20th-century fox film produced by James Corden and directed by Robert Rodriguez. The plot of the movie follows the life of a cyborg who wakes remembering nothing from her past and goes on a quest to unravel her doubts.

The story was originally published as a manga in the 1990s series Gunnm and its 1993 video game version Battle Angel. The lead role of Alita was played by Rosa Salazar and her face was morphed to resemble that of a half-robot (yes, she doesn’t look that uncanny).

The movie was a massive hit across the globe and has a score of 7.3/10 on IMDb. The movie also won the Satellite Award for the Best Visual Effects.

Since it’s victory, fans have been asking for a sequel, and James Corden and Robert Rodriguez have mentioned that a sequel was possible. Last February, they proposed a plan of making more than one sequel to the film, and the roles of some famous actors like Michelle Rodriguez and Jai Courtney, which went uncredited in the first movie, are to be enhanced by this new movie too.

But the official notice about this series’ future has not yet been confirmed.

It’s speculated that the chance of us getting the next movie has gotten thinner as Disney has bought  20th century Fox and the Battle Angel series doesn’t necessarily fall under Disney’s trademark category. But let’s keep our fingers crossed!

Even as a little girl, I was fascinated by words. The idea of stringing words together to form meaningful sentences which could alter the emotions of other human beings excited me. At first I wrote fiction. It gave me a chance to live the different lives I’ve always wanted to. The way my friends reacted when they read my story gave me the greatest of joys. As I grew older, I realised that there are thousands of stories of people around me that deserved to be told. Then I started incorporating their stories to my fictional stories. Over the time, I leaned more towards article writing. I have always felt that writing is my super power. A power I could wield to bring joy and comfort to me and the people I care about.
