James Van Der has revealed his plans to relocate with his wife and five kids across the country from Los Angeles to Texas.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Van Der Beek recounted the “drastic changes” that led to the move, which includes the period, November, when his wife, Kimberly suffered a miscarriage while he competed on ‘Dancing With the Stars’.
“In the last ten months, we’ve had two late pregnancy losses, each of which put @vanderkimberly in the hospital, we spent Christmas break thinking she had a tumor (the doctor was wrong, thank god), I was prematurely booted off a reality dancing show I was favoured to win in front of the whole world, and my mom died,” he wrote. “And a shut down. All of that led to some drastic changes in our lives, and dreams, and priorities… and landed us here”.
The 43-year-old “Dawson’s Creek” star shared photos of his family together with their two dogs in a grassy meadow by a lake. The blended family of 7 were on a road trip from LA to Texas, in which they took in the sights, including the Grand Canyon.
Again, last week, the “Varsity Blues” actor shared on Instagram, some part of the reason for the relocation.
“At the park in Beverly Hills near the house we just moved away from… you were not allowed to fly a KITE,” he wrote. “Also not allowed at any park in #BeveryHills:Riding a bicycle, climbing a tree, throwing a ball against a cinder-block wall, learning anything from an instructor, using weights, cones or any type of pad, wearing cleats (even rubber ones), and you couldn’t use the batting cage built next to the baseball field.”
“Not sayin I need to fly a parachute with a fan strapped to my back like this guy… but when people ask why we’re moving our kids out of L.A. these are just some of the reasons.”
