A movie that showed some resemblance to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2011, Soderbergh’s movie Contagion that features the worldwide spread of virus, in a similar manner just like the novel coronavirus. The movie got a huge following in January, and in the meanwhile Kate Winslet has received a lot of text messages from her friends and family.
In the movie, Winslet starred as Dr. Erin Mears, who was an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer, along with other stars such as Marion Cotillard, Laurence Fishburne, Gwyneth Paltrow, Matt Damon and Jude Law.
Here’s what Winslet said, “I was like, ‘Well, don’t fucking watch it! It will scare you.’ The story is alarmingly accurate. We did work with a remarkable team of people who would listen to the CDC, who advised on the film and gave us incredible information daily and helped design the virus and work with [screenwriter] Scott Burns on the script.”
Winslet joined Contagion cast, to write the PSA from Public Health Experts, along with the scientists back in the March. The movie was all over the headlines, and a word also broke out that daughter of Damon has tested positive for coronavirus, while attending her college in the New York City. A medical consultant featured in the movie also tested positive for novel coronavirus.
Contagion’s unexpected popularity in 2020, has made people believe that how a movie like contagion can be an important lesson for the people everywhere.
In the past month, Kate Winslet was done with her filming and production for Avatar 2. She will be working again with her Titanic Director James Cameron again for her next film Ammonite.
