Initially intended to be a limited series with two parts and 15 episodes the show got two more seasons due to its immense popularity and the support it received from the fans. Season 4 ended on a huge cliffhanger so fans are wondering when they can see the next season. Let’s find out.
La Casa Da Papel meaning “The House of Paper” in Spanish or better known as Money Heist in English is a heist crime drama series created by Álex Pina. The show follows Salvador “Salva” Martín or El Professor who performs 2 long prepared heists along with a crew, one at the Royal Mint of Spain, and one on the Bank of Spain. The show is the most popular non-English series on Netflix and it has garnered more than 65 million views last season. Netflix has already confirmed a 5th part of the show and now the only question is when can we see it?
Expected Release Date
There hasn’t been any announcement from Netflix or makers about the release date of the show and due to the delay caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic the shooting for the show might not even start till next year. With all this in mind, we can guess that the show will likely come around 2021 at the earliest and not before that.
Cast
The show has a great cast and will likely return with most of the cast members in the next season however there were some deaths in the 4th part so unfortunately, we won’t see those characters in the next season. We can expect Álvaro Morte as Sergio Marquina or Salvador “Salva” Martín aka The Professor return along with Najwa Nimri as Alicia Sierra who put a gun on his head at the end of season 4. Along with them, we will also see Itziar Ituño as Raquel Murillo aka Lisbon, Úrsula Corberó as Silene Oliveira aka Tokyo, Miguel Herrán as Aníbal Cortés aka Rio, Esther Acebo as Mónica Gaztambide aka Stockholm, and Jaime Lorente as Ricardo / Daniel Ramos aka Denver. We saw an important member of the team Alba Flores as Ágata Jiménez aka Nairobi die in the last season so she won’t be in the show as the lead cast however we will probably see more of her in flashbacks like we saw Berlin, Moscow Oslo.
Storyline For Season 5 And New Updates
Season 4 ended with Alicia pointing a gun at The Professor so one of the main things we will see in the next season is whether or not Alicia pulls the trigger and what happens to the professor. Also, we will see how the gang will escape from the Back of Spain.
There have been some rumors that this season might be the last for the show. The show was originally a limited series but was extended due to its popularity so this season can be the last one. However, we saw the creator by Álex Pina talk about the spin-off series for the characters so maybe we will see the characters back again.
